Jesse Halvorsen and Andrew Elrod, both History PhD students at UCSB, will speak on "Sinews of Globalism: The Political Economy of America's Cold War." Each will deliver a brief talk on an aspect of this theme.

Jesse Halvorsen's presentation is titled "To Win a 'Hunk of the Machine': Labor, Business, and the State's Approach to
Technological Change During the Cold War, 1948-1964."

Andrew Elrod's talk is titled, "The Multinational Corporation and Detente: Investment Policy, Full Employment, and
the Trade Act of 1974."
