West Meets East: The International Labor Organization fro Geneva to the Pacific Rim

This conference brings together scholars from around the world to explore the role of the International Labor Organization and its relationship to other labor standard setting institutions in East Asia, India, and the Americas during the years following the Second World War. Keynote speakers include Leon Fink, Professor of History at University of Illinois, Chicago and Anita Chan of the China Research Centre of the University of Technology, Sydney. Participants will explore and debate the role of ILO in shaping contemporary efforts, both transnational and within a single nation, in advancing labor sandards and surrounding social, labor, and economic reform.
